Positioned with a Purpose

I want to talk to you about being positioned with a purpose. Being positioned with a purpose and for a purpose. Come on, a lot of us won't understand what God purposes for our life right off the bat. Because what happens with believers, unfortunately? Man, we get an assignment, we get a task, we get a to-do list, and all of a sudden our natural flesh wants to be the first thing to react instead of saying, hmm, what is the purpose that God has aligned for me with this assignment? I get it. It's not always easy. Man, stuff can hit you right in the face. Job obstacles, uh, promote everything can come against you so fast, your natural tendency, your natural reactions to say, whoa. But I want to challenge you today, and I'm gonna encourage you today to know that God's purpose will always have you in the right position. Understand that the purpose that God has for your life will always have you in the right position. And I can only picture it as this when you go to the Olympics, they have a first place, a second place, and a third place. And I promise you this if you're obedient to God's purpose in your life, you will always come out with the gold. Always now that that'll look different, that'll look different per person, that'll look different per assignment, that'll look different per household. Come on, sometimes the purpose he has for you is to ensure that somebody else is on the middle stand. And now that's hard to fathom sometimes, right? Well, if I'm gonna do all that work, I want to be standing on, I want to be getting a medal, I want to be on the metal stand. What's in it for me? And I want to remind you, church, that God's purpose will always have you in the right position. Your job is just to be obedient to it. You don't have to know what it looks like, smells like, sounds like, and what the ending's gonna be like. All you have to be is obedient to say, sir, I understand that if I say yes to you, I'm always gonna be in the right position. And that takes some training, that takes some getting used to. I understand. Trust me, I get it. But you've got to know he'll always lead you in the right position. And sometimes, again, you may not be the one with the spotlight on you. You may not be the one getting the credit, you may not be the one getting the kudos, you may not be the one getting the promotion, you may not be the one receiving the breakthrough. But understand God's purpose for your life will always have you in the right position. I'm gonna show you some biblical examples this evening to help build that top, build that in a foundation on the inside of you because it's important, right? I learned this a long time ago, really, not that long ago. I take that back. That man, I'm thinking, man, I'm a pastor. I'm sowing seed to all these wonderful people. I want to be the one to water it. And understand this: that is a selfish mindset. That is not God's purpose for your life. Our job is to what? To sow seed. Right? And let somebody else, if need be, if so be, be the one to water it. Your job is just to sow it, because what does God's word says? It never returns void. That's why every in as believers in this family of faith, there should be no strangers among us. Because if God's purpose is for you to go sow seed into somebody, you're not talking to a complete stranger, you're talking to a brother and sister in Christ. Remember, God's purpose for your life will always have you in the right position. That's why in the right position, and again, I think I said this on Sunday. When you make it about fulfilling God's position, when you make your life saying, I want to be aligned with God's will and purpose for my life, come on, then it's a get-to instead of a got to. You don't get fatigued, you only get you only get inspired, you only get the Holy Ghost comes in and gives you fresh oil to finish your race. You can't tire, you can't falter, you can't get fatigued, you can't quit because when you're aligned with God's purpose for your life, you're always going to be in the right place. And therefore, it's always a get-to and never a got to. The reason it becomes get to, and the reason it becomes pressure instead of pleasure is because we want to know what's in it for me. How is it that I'm going to be able to accomplish all this? That's not for you to reason, reason why. Your job is to say, yes, sir. I promise you, life is so much easier when you're obedient and you understand you're living out God's purpose for your life. Come on, there's less stress, there's less fatigue, there's less worry. Come on, you're always more in a good mood than you are in a bad mood. Life can't get you down, you're too busy bringing life with you. Amen. This is why it's important you guess with all that you have that I'm gonna live out God's purpose for my life, because if I can do that, I will always be in the right place at the right time with the right attitude, at the right mood, with the right smile on my face, ready to run through walls if that's what Jesus wants me to do. I love the story, right? Mary with the with that at the wedding, they ran out of wine. What did Mary say? Just do whatever he says or he tells you to do. That's our mission as believers in life. Just do whatever God's purpose and will for your life is. You will always be in the right place. You will always come out a winner. And here's the good news: you will never know what the generational effect is, more than likely, until you get to heaven. Man, that's what I want to do. I want my grandson, his kids, and his kids to say, Man, your pops, he ministered the gospel, and this is what he taught me. This life of faith. Why? Because when you're living in God's purpose, you will always be in the right position, having the most effectiveness that you possibly can have. Because understand this, and I'm gonna say this again. This is for some of you here tonight, man. When God tells you and purposes to put something on your heart to do it, or God sends your man of God into your life and says, This is your purpose for this season of your life, man. Let me tell you, you're gonna have everything you need to accomplish that purpose in your life if you stay obedient. That's the key, obedience. So let's get into this guy. Turn go to Psalms 138, verse 8. God's purpose will always have you in the right position. Psalms 138 says, the Lord will perfect. Well, what does perfect mean? Bring to an end and complete. So what does that mean? He will bring to an end and complete that which concerns me. And we just learned that if you're in his purpose, you're always gonna be in the right place. Come on. So, what does that mean? It means either you're gonna be on the metal stand or your purpose is gonna ensure somebody else is on the metal stand. And that should mean just as much to you as if they were up there playing your national anthem. That should motivate you. That whose life am I gonna impact today? Who's through God's purpose, through God's will for my life, who am I gonna touch? I don't have to have it all figured out. I just gotta be obedient and understand when God says to move, you move. He says you move to the left, you don't ask him how many steps, you just move. See, that's the thing as believers, we get cobwebbed in our mind thinking, oh my gosh, how am I gonna get myself out of all this and do all this? And then you start looking funny, moving funny, talking funny. Because in your spirit, you're trying to get through everything, accomplish everything God has. No, just stay, be in God's will and purpose for your life, and you will always be in the right place. Come on, church, because God will bring it to an end and complete that which concerns who? You your mercy, oh Lord, endures forever. He says, Do not forsake the work of your hands. Who's not to forsake the work of your hands? You he goes, Don't for don't forsake it, don't blow it off, don't forget about it, don't think that you have nothing left to to to work with. Don't think your hands are no good anymore. He says, My God will bring it to a completeness, the work that He's called in you. Man. So if God's gonna do that, then guess what? You have everything in there to see it to the end. So again, my topic tonight, if you're taking notes, is God's purpose will always have you in the right position. Understand this. If you're in the position God wants and needs you to be, then you will do the most good and have the greatest impact, not only in your life, but for generations to come. That motivates me. I'm a granddad now, right? I can only imagine some of you parents who are young adult parents or kid to parents or teenage parents, that man, I want to be in the right position now more than ever because there's more on the line than there's ever been in my life. I don't know today, I may not know tomorrow, but I know if I can stay in God's purpose for my life, then I'm always gonna finish right. And if I'm finishing right, then guess what? I'm allowing momentum to be created for generations to come. Man, what do you want your story to be when you go home to be with Jesus? What do you want it to be? Oh, he left an all-right, he was a hard worker. Yeah, that's all great. But where does that line up with God's purpose and plan for your life? You can't hang your success on somebody else's cult rack. Yes, come on, right? God designed a specific purpose and plan for your life, a cult wreck, if you will, for you to be hanging his purpose and will for your life so that you can see it. It can motivate you every day for the rest of your life. You cannot find success or peace and joy trying to live off somebody else's plan and purpose for their own life. For generations to come. That's why I love the word because it don't matter if you're two months old or you're about to be 120 years old, man, you're still having an effect on generations to come, right? If you can keep your life aligned with God's purpose for your life, come on, you can be in the right place. Some of you are thinking, well, how do I find out what God's purpose for my life is? I'm gonna give you three steps before this message is over with to help you with that. We're gonna clear those cobwebs, right? We don't want anybody walking like that. We want believers with their shoulders back, boldly saying, Man, I am living God's purpose out for my life. I'm not confused, my wood is not wet, my tire is not flat, man. I am in go mode. Come on, right? I am in go mode. You may not always experience that impact at that moment, like I said earlier. Man, you may not know if you're gonna be on the metal stand. You don't know if your kid's gonna be on the metal stand. But let me tell you, do you really want to chance it by not fulfilling God's purpose for your life? Because it's not just gonna affect you, it's gonna affect others. And you don't know how it's gonna affect them. I don't want to play Russian roulette that way. I want to make sure that I'm staying alive with God's purpose for my life because then I know I'll always be in the right place. And the more I'm in the right place, then I create momentum for future generations to learn how to live to be and stay in the right place. Come on, I don't care if you're in this room single, you better learn how to do this now so that when the time comes, may you hit the ground running. You ain't you ain't learning how to run. You may not always experience the impact of the moment, but do not miss the opportunity. You fulfilling God's purpose in your life can and will benefit generations to come. Church, there's so much on the line.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_01There's so much on the line. What y'all saying to much is given, much is expected? Come on, there's expectations on our life. Right? Again, you can't hang your success on somebody else's coat rack. Come on, as much as you want, you can't be on that metal stand with them. You got to create your own metal stand because God has his own purpose and plan for your life. And there's nothing, if you're willing to stay in that, in that, in that, in that alignment with it, nothing can stop you. Right? You're in better moods half the time. You're more excited to be here under the word. You're excited to hear the word because you know you are in the right place at the right time at every season in your life. Man, come on, somebody. Let's pass the offering bucket around. Just kidding. So much is on the line to say yes to and to not be obedient. Father, thank you so much for today. Lord, I just lift this message up to you. I thank you for all these wonderful people who came today to sit and listen to your word. Lord, I pray they came expecting, Father, God, Lord, to glean something from this, to take from it, to cling to like their life depended on it, Father. Lord, I'm more of you and less of me in every area of my life. Lord, what an honor it is to minister your word. May I be thorough and accurate with it in Jesus' name. Amen. Let me show you some more examples of how being in God's purpose will always keep you and have you at the right place at the right time. Right? Saying yes gets you more right than ever saying no. I'm gonna back that up here in a minute. Understand that. Let's go to Exodus chapter 17, verse 11 through 13. And so it was when Moses held up his hand that Israel prevailed. And when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed. Let me tell you, there's a lot on the line. There's a war, a battle to be won. Moses keeps his hand up, they win. The moment Moses puts his arms down, they start losing. I don't know about you, but if I was on Moses' side, I'd be like, hey Moses, you better keep those arms up. Some of you mamas in here be like, Moses, my boys out there fighting for you, Moses. You better keep them arms. If you don't, you got an angry mama to deal with. It's important that Moses kept his arms up. Right? There's a lot on the line. But listen what it says. But Moses' hands became heavy. So they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Listen down. And Aaron and her supported his hands, one on one side, the other on the other side. And his hands were steady until down of the sun. Listen, here's the effect. Joshua defeated the Amaleks and his people with the edge of his sword. Church, when you're living with God's purpose and you're aligned with it, it'll always have you at the right place. Check this out. Aaron and her, the Bible doesn't say any much more about them being connected and doing anything ever again together. But think about this. Because both of them were aligned with God's purpose and obedience to God's purpose, it had them at the right place. What was the right place? To make sure that Moses' arm were raised up high, right? So that what? So that the Israelite army can win. I told you, always being in God's purpose, isn't having you being on the metal stand. Sometimes it has somebody else being on the metal stand. And I can only tell you again, the word does not capture another time where those two were in the same position together to create such a dramatic outcome. They played their purpose, and their purpose, they were obedient to their purpose, and their purpose had them at the right place. What was that? Holding up Moses' arms.
SPEAKER_00Now, I ain't gonna lie.
SPEAKER_01If it were me, I'd want I'd want a hashtag uh thank you, Johnny and Crystal, for holding my arms up. Something. Bring us back a sweatshirt from the conference. Something. Don't hate, because some of y'all be had to. But I told you, man, when you're obedient to God's purpose, it'll have you at the right place. And sometimes it's somebody else on the metal stand and not you. But understand this, that doesn't make your impact any less impactful. And here's the other good news heaven never forgets.
SPEAKER_02Praise the Lord. Come on, that's good.
SPEAKER_01See, so many times we'll turn down where God wants us to go. So many times we'll turn down what God wants us to be. So many times we'll turn down what God wants us to do because of the position it puts us in. Now I can't tell you, I can only speak for me, but there was many times God and people would come into my life saying, Hey, I need you to do this. And all of a sudden, before I said yes, all the things I was already doing and everything that I was already committed to came to my mind. Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are you trying to do? Get me to walk a hunch back? That's too much. Right? That's too much. I don't know about you, but man, holding somebody's arm for the whole day, that's too much. Texas is playing. I can't miss that game. Whatever your reason is, whatever your reason is that takes you out of obedience for fulfilling God's purpose for your life.
SPEAKER_00Come on, we all do that.
SPEAKER_01We get to a position that, man, it it it you can it the world and your flesh will take you, man. That's a position I do not want. Imagine so many men and women of God who could have turned down a position of something that God tried to put on and said, No, I can't do that. Some of us probably wouldn't be here today. Some of these great evangelists and pastors and preachers wouldn't be out there preaching today if it wasn't for people that says, you know what, I'm gonna be obedient to the purpose that God's placed in my heart. I may not see the effects this month, next month, or a year from now, but I know heaven is watching, and I know God's gonna perfect that which he's called in me. He's gonna see it to an end. And all he wants for me is to say, I'm gonna be along with the ride till my last breath. Come on, somebody. There's so much at stake. And it don't matter if you're five, fifteen, twenty-five, thirty-five, fifty-five, seventy-five, a hundred and five, or 150. There's still a purpose and plan for your life. Right? I hadn't read anywhere yet when God says, Hey, go drink a virgin pinnacolada and sit under the sun until I come home. If you've read that, show me. I don't know. I'll go back and read it somewhere else. He doesn't say that. Go back to the man Moses. He was doing his duty until he wasn't no more. Well, how do we know he was busy doing God's duty? Because the way the word describes Moses, he was spry, he was still at vigor in his life. Well, how do you keep vigor in your life? Keeping sure that you're staying in the will of God's plan for purpose for your life. Come on. That's Botox. That's like vitamins for you. You stay, stay more energized, you stay more pumped, you stab more, you just have more love, more of the heaven working in and through you than stress, worry, fatigue, doubt. My stuff will get you old quick. Come on. Church, see this tonight. See this tonight. If you leave here with one thing, I want you to leave here with this. Aaron and her did not need a rod in their hand to be faithful and make a difference. Listen, Aaron and her did not need a rod in their hand to be faithful and make a difference. They just needed to be faithful with what God placed in their hands.
SPEAKER_00Come on, they didn't need to have the rod in their hand to make a difference.
SPEAKER_01God's saying, hey, just be faithful for the plan and purpose I have for your life. I put you guys in the right place to hold this man's arm up so that my people can win in battle. You just gotta be faithful with what God's put on your put in your hands. Nobody else has to understand it. You don't need a pat on the back from Sally every Sunday. No, you just gotta be faithful with the plan and purpose that God's placed in your hands and saying, God, I'm not quitting, I'm not surrendering, I'm not gonna fatigue out, I'm not gonna start and quit because I know heaven is watching, and it may not be me on the metal stand, but Lord, I'm gonna play a purpose of that person being on the metal stand, and you can count on me.
SPEAKER_02Come on, that's so good.
SPEAKER_01Come on. Let's look at another story. Let's look at the story of Joseph. Being obedient to God's purpose and plan for your life will always have you at the right place at the right time. Even if that's at the bottom of a pit or in a jail. Man, I about. Busted my knee when I was reading this story. When I was medicying this man, it's like, man, how in the world do you stay in the will of God's plan when you're at the bottom of a pit? Your brothers don't like you, they sell you off to slavery, and then because you're good looking, somebody lies on you and you get thrown in jail. How is it that you still want to be obedient to God's plan for your life? Whoo, let's get into this a little bit. See, I'm gonna give you a quick quick breakdown of the life of Joseph. Joseph was 17 years old when God placed a dream on him. Saying Joseph, what did Joseph do? He said, I'm gonna tell all the people that's supposed to love me, that are for me, that are with me, that are about me. I'm gonna tell them this dream. Well, y'all know what happened, right? If you know the story of Joseph, right? His own daddy, the one that loved him the most. His own daddy looked at him like, we're supposed to bow down to you. Right? His brothers said, Oh no, little one, we you better go somewhere else. Go sell crazy somewhere else. So, what did they do? They conspired against him, they you know, came up with all these ways, they threw him in a pit, ended up selling him as a slave. Joseph was sold to an Egyptian officer named Potiphar, and then he was falsely accused by Potiphar's wife, thrown into jail. Think about all this. Could you have gone through all that and still stayed obedient to God's plan and purpose for your life?
unknownCome on, that's good.
SPEAKER_01Let me ask you this do what you see is it greater than what God sees?
unknownCome on, that's good.
SPEAKER_01Because you couldn't have blamed Joseph for sin, what being moved by what he saw. Bro, those for me turned against me and talking bad about me. Then he throw me in the pip, but now they're laughing at me. Didn't care, lick about me, sold me, didn't care what happened to me. That's why you've got to understand what you see, understand what you see is not greater than what God sees in a plan and purpose for your life. We've got to stay obedient for God's plan in your life because then he'll always have you in the right place. Again, that could be at the bottom of a pit, that could be in a jail cell, that could be in Potterful Wife's room, that could be wherever. Because it'll always have you in the right place. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying go in any other woman's room. Don't get me wrong. I'm just saying be obedient to God's plan and purpose for your life. Because where if you are, you always have heaven at your attention for you. Come on, let's get into this some more. Let's pick it up in verse chapter 39 of Genesis verse 20 and 21. Said then Joseph's master took him and put him into prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined. And there he was in prison. But the Lord, well, listen to this. But the Lord was what? With Joseph. And showed him mercy and gave him favor inside of the keeper of the prison. Church, when you have God's purpose for your life will always have you in the right position in your life. Don't be scared if you're in a prison. Don't be scared if that has you somewhere unfamiliar. Don't be scared if he has you, he has a call or a different season for your life to do something different than you're normally used to doing. Right? Because just this, when you get a become a master of something, don't be surprised if God says, okay, it's time to do something else.
SPEAKER_02Come on, that's so good.
SPEAKER_01I dig this. Because in prison he was finding favor. Why? Because he was still obedient to God's plan and purpose for his life. You could be at a job that you don't like, you could be at a job that is stressful, but you can still be obedient to God's plan and purpose for your life. Because guess what? You can find favor.
unknownCome on. Thank you, Jesus.
SPEAKER_01If you choose to stay obedient to God's plan and purpose, what does that look like? That means seeing the positive when there's lots of negative. That means keeping your light shining bright when there's a lot of darkness going around on you. That means finding the good. Your glasses always have full instead of half empty. People cannot move you off your plan and purpose if you so choose not to. Because God says, hey, if you can stay obedient to my plan and purpose I have for your life, you will always be in the right place.
SPEAKER_00In fact, in prison, he says he was fine and favored.
SPEAKER_01The word goes on to say that whatever he did, Joseph prospered.
SPEAKER_02Come on.
SPEAKER_01Who in a place that he didn't want to be, a place that he didn't do anything to deserve to be there. The Bible says he prospered. Why? Because when you stay obedient to God's plan and purpose for your life, you will always be in the right place. Again, with the right attitude. Not grumbling, not mumbling, not with your head down, not wanting. Oh man, I need to put in 30 resumes before I get hired. Go somewhere else. Why? Because that's not put in God's plan for your life. You're trying to plant the seed and water the seed. But God's saying, hey, I didn't tell you to plant that seed. I sure enough ain't gonna send nobody to water it. So get over yourself, find peace and joy when I have you. Get obedient back under by obedient to the plan and purpose I have for your life, and you too will prosper.
unknownCome on.
SPEAKER_01You want to effectively place your job, you want to effectively change your job place? How about staying obedient?
unknownThat's good.
SPEAKER_01A lot of people didn't like that one. The story is with Joseph sparing and saving his entire family during a famine. Come on, because what happened? He continued to find favor. He went and interpreted dream. King loved it. King got him out of there. King made him governor, second most powerful man out of Egypt behind Pharaoh. Why? Because he was obedient to God's plan and purpose for his life. He didn't just quit and say, Oh, okay, guys, get me out of this hole. I'm sorry. I can't take it. I can't do no more. Don't ask me to do no more. I'm doing so much already. I've done so much. I was big in the 80s.
SPEAKER_00There's so much on the line.
SPEAKER_01There's so much at stake. Not only that you what you can what you'll be able to reap from, but even that things you won't be able to see or have it to know the effect till generations to come. I'd rather have the most highlights. You know what? You know what I want to see when I go to heaven? And man, God show me all the my obedience, all how generations after generation after generation were reaping from my obedience. Man, that boy, they got to get an exercise crown for me, bro, with all my all my rewards on it. Ain't bragging. That's just my purpose. That's my purpose for my life. Joseph shows us how to live a life ready to be used. Being obedient to leads to positivity. Obedient people are more positive and happy than disobedient people. Come on. Disobedient people to the word are unhappy people. It never fails. Go find somebody who's unhappy. I can tell you, I can probably show you in that area of their life, they're not living under the word. They're not being obedient to what God told them to do. Saying that shoe fits. Go buy a different shoe.
SPEAKER_00Joseph shows us how to live a life ready to be used.
SPEAKER_01Being obedient leads to posity. Well, how is that? Because it puts us and keeps us aligned with God's will. And that will always say always produce good spiritual, emotional, and practical results. Right? If you ain't happy, you need to ask yourself, man, where am I not being obedient to God's purpose and plan for my life? If you're with some dude and he ain't the dude for you, and he ain't you ain't happy, or you're with the girl, and hey, man, you need to ask yourself, man, is am I under God's will and purpose for my life?
SPEAKER_00And then just be prepared for the answer. Because he'll probably give you an answer. And then he's gonna say, hey, do you want to stay in the hole or do you want to get out of the hole? Better tell him, Sally.
SPEAKER_01Being obedient leads to positivity, and it will always keep you walking and living in his will for you to be ready to be used like Joseph. Go to Ephesians chapter 2, verse 10. Check this out. God makes it so easy. It says, For we are his workmanship, his own master work. He says, We are his work of art. Now, if his work of art and he was created by him, and we're created and all things are through him for us, don't you think it'd be a who of you to be in the will and plan for God's purpose in your life?
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_01Come on, I'm gonna tell this again. If you haven't set up your own colt rack, and I'm saying for you to hang your successes on it, I want tonight to be the night that you got a revelation to say I need to go get my own colt rack. Because I'm ready to start living for God's plan and purpose for my life. Come on. If Moses can be uh vigor and full of zeal at 120, then guess what I can be at 75 or 76 or 81, whoever the most mature person in here is, or the youngest person is. Because remember, Joseph was 17 and he learned to be obedient to God's plan and purpose for his life. Come on, preaching here today? You getting something? I'm trying not to be too preaching, I'm trying to teach you. It says, for we are his workmanship, his own masterwork, a work of art. Created in Christ Jesus, reborn from above, spiritually transformed, renewed, and ready to be used. What does it say? You are ready to be what? Used. You are ready to be what? Used. You are ready to be what? Used. But in order to be used, you have to be what? Obedient to God's will and plan for your life. See, some of y'all didn't know that. Y'all sitting here today saying, I didn't know the Bible said that. Yeah, you're ready to be used for what? Good works, which God prepared for us beforehand, taking paths, which he sent, so that we should walk in them, live in the what? Good life. Not life like this. But a good life. Right? I don't know about you, but I used to love uh Welcome Back Carter, Vinny Barino. I used to love that guy. Right? Go, go, you youngers, go to YouTube and look up Welcome Back Cotta. Look up Vinnie Bobberino. Then you'll be like, man, that's cool. You know who Vinny Barberino is, don't you? Horseshack. There you go. Not Horshack. Says that we should walk in them, live in the good life which he's prearranged and made ready for us. Man, when it's pre-arranged, that means you walk in, and man, things are ready for you to be aligned with God's will and purpose in your life so that you can live in not just some of the time, not part of the time, but all the time. Who I pray I'm giving you some fresh oil here for saying, you know what, man, there's some things in my life I hadn't fulfilled God, I hadn't been obedient to God's plan and purpose for my life. That ends today.
unknownCome on, that's all right. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_01Because church, know this you are the very best that God has to offer at any any moment of your life. And I'll ask you, like I asked you earlier, what you see, is it greater than what God sees? Because sometimes your pastor will come up to you and say, hey, it's time for you to do this.
SPEAKER_00But I'll ask you, is what you see greater than what God sees?
SPEAKER_01Church, it's there's so much on the line that you want to make sure that you're always obedient to God's plan and purpose for your life. Because if you can do that, you will always be in the right place. Come on. Go to Galatians chapter 6, verse 2 and 3. Ooh, I'm right on time. Praise God. Listen to this. Love empowers us to fill the law of the anointed one. As what we carry each other's troubles. So, what does that mean? That means I need to rely. We can't be Joseph's brothers to each other. We can't be the one throwing somebody in a pit when they come say this is God's desire, this is God's desire and will for my life, purpose for my life. We can't be like Joseph's brother and say, you know what? Boy, you you crazy. What does it say? No, it says we are to carry each other's troubles. If you think you're somebody too important to stoop down to help another, come on. If you think you're too important to sweep the parking lot at your church, come on. If you think you're too important to sing, if you think you're too important to hold doors, let me ask you this if you continue to allow life to make you quit. Come on, you're not walking in God's plan and purpose for your life. You see it, you know it, but you're walking the other way. Not on purpose, because a lot of you are great people. You don't do it on purpose. You ain't got the devil in you. It's just what it is, you've got too many cobwebs still. Right? You're walking like this. You are the very best that God has to offer at that very moment. And he says he empowers you to carry each other's troubles. If you think you're somebody too important, stoop down and help another, when you really are not, according to the passing translation, says you're living in deception. Right? You're living in deception. Church, I promise you this, man. If you fulfill God's obedient to God's purpose, you will always have you. He will always have you in the right position. Come on. You can't quit. Right? You can't quit. You can't say, man, I can't pick up anybody else's troubles. I got my own to deal with. I got my own problems, my own troubles to deal with.
SPEAKER_00I'm broke, tired, trying to try to claw my way out of the pit.
SPEAKER_01Let me leave that there. Because some of us, some of us tie our own selves out with trying to crawl out of the pit.
unknownThat's right.
SPEAKER_01Instead of being obedient to God's plan and purpose for our life. Check your fingernails, they full of dirt.
SPEAKER_02That's right. That's right.
SPEAKER_00Come on.
SPEAKER_01You're living in deception, the Bible says. Let me close tonight with these three. Here's the three steps to help you make sure you're living in God's plan and purpose for your life. Okay? Because I don't want anybody to leave here with their wood wet. Right? Because you can't start fire with wet wood. Understand that.
unknownCome on, that's good.
SPEAKER_01And I want you to leave here today with your wet dry and ready to be burned and put on fire for our Lord Jesus. So here's three steps to help you stay aligned with God's purpose. And that these might be on your notes so you can take them home. Number one, trust the process.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01Because, especially when it goes back to jobs you don't like, boy, you're on your knees saying, God, give me a job. The moment you got a job, all of a sudden life gets hard. You don't want that job no more. You stop trusting the process.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm I I mean, look over here.
SPEAKER_00You stop trusting the process again.
SPEAKER_01It's good. It's so good. You stop trusting the process. You started off good, and then you're like, thank God, you're gonna pay me that. Woo! You get all excited. Bonuses? What? Boy, and then just some time goes by and you stop trusting the process. Then you get out of the will of plan and purpose God has for your life. Romans chapter 8, verse 28 says, So we're convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good. For we are his lovers who have been called to what? Fulfill his designed purpose.
unknownThat's good.
SPEAKER_01Who's called to fulfill his designed purpose? You. You're the one he's calling man, his lover. Isn't that cool? Yep, Jesus calls you his lover. Compared to what some other people call you in the world behind your back, anyway. Man, my Jesus in front of me, behind me, he always saying I'm he's my lover. And he's madly, passionately, deeply and intimately in love with me. Remember, whatever you trust, you'll be obedient to. Because the moment they gave you that job and they gave you that, you saw that payment, you're like, Yep, I'll take it. We all say, Well, let me go home and pray about it, but you done got your mind made up before you left anyway. I'm gonna take that job. I don't know why I'm on that tonight. That's a word for somebody. Number two, focus on obedience. Focus on obedience. Exodus 17, 9 and 10 says, Moses said to Joshua, choose some men and go out and fight. I'm gonna try maybe I'll preach on that next Wednesday about that verse right there. Choose some men and go out and fight. Tomorrow, listen to this. This is what Moses is saying. Tomorrow I'll go stand on top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand. So Joshua did as Moses said to him and fought with Amalek, and Moses, Aaron, and her went up to the top of the hill. Focus on the obedience. Joseph and uh uh uh what's his name? Uh no. Joshua wasn't like, hey, bro, let me see you go up to the mountain first before I go. No, he he focused on obedience. He was obedient to what the man, his man of God said for him to go and do. That wasn't uh, uh uh, what if this happens? Oh, well, what if I can't do that? Hey, uh, I already hey, I gotta fight next next Tuesday. You want me to fight tomorrow? Focus on the obedience. See, be like Aaron and her and make a positive difference right where you are instead of waiting for the perfect circumstances. Praise God. Again, they didn't have to be they didn't have to be Moses with the rod in the hand, they just had to be faithful with what God placed in their hand. And that was Moses' arm. Say, ain't nobody gonna hold his arm like me.
unknownYes, that's good.
SPEAKER_01I don't know about that cat over there, but I'm not gonna fail my job. Well, you see, oh, see, and and Aaron was the first, was the first chief priest for the cut for the people of Israel. And Ur was a leader in the tribe of Judah. Right? So again, have being obedient will also get you in the right place, but it also keep you in unity.
unknownYes, amen.
SPEAKER_01And when you're in unity, you're in a better mood, you're happier. You got people, you got people that are saying, Man, I'm gonna be with you until the very end, no matter what. So, number two, focus on the obedience. The third one, this is the one we get a little hard on. Now, I don't know why believers are, excuse me, but man, we're we're we're we're kind of bad at this. Seek guidance and yield control. Now, not everybody. Some of you are better than others. But seek guidance and yield control. See, what does that yield control mean? You can seek guidance all you want, but if you ain't gonna do what the guider told you to do, then you ain't you ain't losing control. Well, yeah, I would see you. I felt good when I left your house, but that's not always gonna be. Because I ain't leaving control. And this is where believers they go talk to their pastors, they go talk to their spiritual parents, they go talk to their best friends, they go talk to people they trust, and they seek guidance, but they don't they don't lose control. Seek guidance and yield control. Go to Proverbs 16, 9 in the past. It says, within your heart, you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to what? Get there. Some of you are pretty smart, granted. Some of you probably got high. Obviously, all of you are smart. Thank you. My wife always tells me, be more positive sometimes. All of you are brainiacs, only you finish top of your class. That better? Thank you, honey.
SPEAKER_02Positivity.
SPEAKER_01But it says it's the Lord who chooses your steps.
unknownThank God.
SPEAKER_01This is where yielding control. This is where yielding control has to take place. Bro, you don't take you 40 years to get somewhere. But if you don't yield control, it's gonna take you that and then some.
SPEAKER_02That's good.
SPEAKER_01But you got to seek the guidance. You got to say, Lord, let me seek you first. Before I move, before I react, before my face crinkles up, in doubt and in fear and in worry, that what I see is greater than what you see, before I get there, let me seek you. Because believe it or not, what you seek first, man, it's gonna cause you to delay seeking God first. Because then you got to battle through the fear, the unbelief, the worry, the doubt. Like that fool's crazy. What's he talking about? He don't know what he's talking about. And then once you battle all that, somebody clears those cobwebs, then you seek the Lord. But sometimes some of us will spend months and years trying to clear those cobwebs and be out of God's perfect plan and purpose for your life. I'm thankful for all of y'all because he has you at the right place tonight.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_01Come on, go tell those people who ain't here and say, hey, get in God's plan and purpose for your life.
unknownAmen. Come on.
SPEAKER_01The Lord is the one who directs your steps. So let me encourage you with this, and I'll leave you. We'll say goodnight to this. You may not have Moses' position, but you can have Moses' purpose. You may not feel the spotlight, but heaven sees your faithfulness. You may not feel like you're doing, you may feel like you're only doing something minimal, but realize you're helping accomplish the assignment God has placed on somebody. Be faithful where you are with what you have and trust God with the results. And always believe and stay believing that God's purpose for your life will have you in the right position in your life.
